Grand Floridian Walkway to Magic Kingdom Reopens Although Portion Remains A Busy Construction Site

Following work on the Sago Cay building at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the walkway to Magic Kingdom is now open again. The walkway closed back in February due to the close proximity of work taking place at Sago Cay. While visiting Magic Kingdom earlier, we decided to check out the walkway and found that nothing has changed, but that a portion of the walkway is still very much a construction site.

Heavy equipment was crossing the guest walkway and there were little to no barriers between the ongoing work and guests. There were also no spotters for the heavy equipment. Beyond the possible safety concerns, guests were required to walk through wet mud today, so we would recommend avoiding the use of the walkway for maybe the next week as crews continue working in the area. Here’s a look at the walkway and construction area.
