A permit filed by Adena Corporation previews work to come on the Fairytale Garden meet & greet space at Magic Kingdom. Currently, guests can meet Merida from Brave in the Fairytale Garden venue near Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and Cheshire Cafe. However, Disney has confirmed that Mirabel will be coming to Magic Kingdom this fall, replacing the Merida meet and greet.
At Magic Kingdom Park this fall, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film “Encanto” will greet guests in Fairytale Garden surrounded by whimsical décor inspired by La Familia Madrigal.
Here’s a look at the Fairytale Gardens from when Merida returned to the space post-COVID. As you can see, there will be some work required to transform the space into an Encanto-themed area, and Adena Corporation has been tapped to do the work. The permit only lists “General Construction”, but it lists the address for Fairytale Gardens.
Currently, Merida has meet & greet times listed through August, like other Magic Kingdom characters, but the area will likely have to close at some point for what we hear could be extensive work. The Mirabel meet and greet will be popular, and Disney is looking to make some upgrades to the space to accommodate the expected influx of guests.
Disney World has not released concept art of what the reimagined space will look like yet.
