Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the morning hours might find Pocahontas and Meeko in The Oasis. While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning, we found Pocahontas meeting with guests in The Oasis before we crossed the bridge to Discovery Island. Pocahontas used to meet with guests at the Character Landing on Discovery Island, but Moana is currently using that location.
The Oasis is the lush setting that you first walk through when entering Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We found Pocahontas on the right side of the walkway, but it’s possible that her meet & greet area could change. Cast Members in blue shirts would be able to help you find her during your visit.
That said, she might not be a permanent addition to The Oasis. The Pocahontas meet & greet has not been added to the My Disney Experience app, so it is subject to change, but we’re told she should be around for the next month or so. When we visited, Cast Members said that Pocahontas would be visiting from 9am to 12pm.
Meeko was not out meeting guests this morning, but Cast Members said that he would be around later in the day for the flotilla and should be around most mornings going forward. Here’s Pocahontas!

Very cool! I’m curious, though- last year I went to Animal Kingdom and saw neither Pocahontas nor Moana. When I asked the cast members, I was told Pocahontas was only visible from the pontoon boat. Have they only just recently brought her back to Animal Kingdom? How long has Moana been there for as well?
Moana debuted at Animal Kingdom on April 22, 2023, so that’s relatively new. Pocahontas very recently started meeting, unannounced, in the Oasis, but she can still be found on the flotilla, which is the pontoon boat that has been in use since the COVID-19 distancing protocols
