Walt Disney World has announced that the construction walls will be coming down, and the CommuniCore Hall structure will be open starting June 10th at EPCOT. The milestone is the end of years of construction and significant changes and cutbacks to the plans for an EPCOT festival center.
Disney World announced that CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, and the Mickey & Friends meet and greet will be opening June 10th. Here’s a little bit more on each space.
CommuniCore Hall
CommuniCore Hall will be “home to the iconic EPCOT festivals and other celebrations”. The venue has been described as an exhibit space, and the concept art below shows one possible exhibit that will likely rotate throughout the year as EPCOT Festivals and celebrations are held.
CommuniCore Plaza
CommuniCore Plaza is the outdoor entertainment venue. Previously released concept art showed a band on the stage during an EPCOT Festival, but the venue will debut as the host of the all-new Encanto-themed show coming to EPCOT this summer.
Mickey & Friends Meet and Greet
Finally, the Mickey & Friends meet and greet venue will also open on June 10th, according to Disney World. The area will be a central spot where guests can find Disney characters to hug and high-five. So far, Disney has only released the following concept art of the exterior of the building.
