PHOTOS, VIDEO: Daytime Ride Testing for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom

While visiting Magic Kingdom yesterday, we couldn’t help but notice the extensive daytime ride testing taking place at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Our previous look at ride vehicle testing was in late February, and it was before the time change, so it was rather dark during the testing. The power of modern cameras allowed us to see in the dark a bit, but we thought it would be useful to get a daytime look at the testing.

We made it out to Magic Kingdom yesterday, just missing the very short window of actual people riding the attraction, but we still found empty-boat testing at a regular cadence. Here’s a video of the testing, followed by a few photos.

As we noted yesterday, there are testing signs around the visible part of the ride that inform guests that while they may see logs traveling down the 52.5′ drop and around the splashdown u-turn, the ride is only testing and it will open this summer.

A peek over the walls shows a more mature landscaping effort at the front of the ride, but still not a completed look. Disney drains the pools daily, so there is still plenty of work that is able to be done. Most notably, we expect Disney to add some more set dressing around the infrastructure near the iconic drop.

This will likely be hidden by faux foliage.
