After more than two months of refurbishment, the Walt Disney Theater is now open again at the end of the Walt Disney Presents exhibit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The theater has received refreshed seats and carpet, and perhaps a new coat of paint inside. In addition to the cosmetic changes, there were also some accessibility changes that should make it easier for guests in wheelchairs or ECVs to navigate. Here’s a look around!

At first glance, there didn’t seem to be many changes from the outside of the theater, but a closer look revealed some accessibility changes. The bank of doors to the left side of the “minutes until next show” clock have been modified. Instead of three single-wide door frames, there is one single-wide door frame and one double-wide door frame. There is also a “push to open” accessibility button just out of frame to the left in the photo below.

Here’s a look at the doorway in action, which Cast Members were quite excited about. Similarly, there is another double-wide door frame at the exit to the theater.

Other upgrades to the theater include refreshed carpeting and seating. Both are noticeably new. The interior carpet pattern matches the unchanged lobby carpet pattern but is thicker compared to the trampled and worn carpet outside of the theater doors. The refreshed carpet is also more vibrant, as you’d expect from new carpet.

The seats have all been refreshed – a welcome change from the state of the seats before the refresh.

The Percy Jackson preview has concluded, and the One Man’s Dream film has returned. It did not appear that any upgrades had been made to the film itself.
