Tornado Watch Issued for Walt Disney World as Effects of Hurricane Milton Felt

The outer bands of Hurricane Milton are making their way through Florida ahead of landfall for the major hurricane, and as a result, a Tornado Watch has been issued for the Walt Disney World area. The Tornado Watch includes Orange County – one of the two counties that Walt Disney World is located in. Here’s the notice from the National Weather Service.

Tornado Watch for Walt Disney World

According to the National Weather Service, here’s what a Tornado Watch means:

Tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. Review and discuss your emergency plans, take inventory of your supplies and check your safe room. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Acting early helps to save lives! Watches are issued by the Storm Prediction Center for counties where tornadoes may occur. The watch area is typically large, covering numerous counties or even states.

The Tornado Watch will expire at 9pm tonight if it’s not extended.
