Adventureland Pavement Project Completed, Updated Look at Themed Pavement in Magic Kingdom

While rope dropping Magic Kingdom the other day, we had some time to take an updated look at the themed pavement project in Adventureland. The project appears to be complete now after the pavement connected the main entrance of the land to the already-themed pavement in the area around the Magic Carpets of Aladdin attraction in the middle of Adventureland.

Adventureland Themed Pavement Project Now Complete

We’ll start at the entrance to Adventureland, walking toward the Jungle Cruise attraction, and then on toward the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, taking a look at the new and existing pavement along the way. The first half of this article will take a look at the new themed pavement in Adventureland before we take a look at the existing pavement patterns in front of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Let’s begin!

The themed pavement project began back in August 2024. The new pavement contains a buffet of textures, imprints, and colors that create a much more natural look and even feel. Here’s a walk through Adventureland!

Some textures remain unchanged, such as the pavers seen in the lower right of the image below. The pavement on the extreme left side of the image also remains unchanged, but we’ll take a look at that in a second.

The lighter brown pavement is the new Adventureland pavement, while the black, almost volcanic, pavement is pre-existing.

Same thing in the image below, the black volcanic-themed pavement is pre-existing, whereas the lighter brown dirt/mud pavement to the right is new.

We can sort of see where the Adventureland pavement project ended on the left side of the image below, and where it joins the pre-existing themed pavement in the area around the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. The dark stripe in the photo below is where the new pavement meets old. Another good way to tell what is old and what’s new is that the old pavement contained the larger stones, whereas the new pavement only has rocks and pebbles.

The rest of this article will just look at the pre-existing pavement in Adventureland. There weren’t a lot of guests on this side of the park during an overcast, cold morning, so it made for some good pavement photography.
