As more information becomes available about the exciting grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World this summer, we wanted to keep you updated with the latest information.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Extra Magic Hours at Disneyland
Due to the extremely high anticipated demand at Disneyland Resort when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens on May 31st, Disney is implementing crowd control measures.
First, Disney has announced that registration will be required to enter the land at Disneyland Resort in the opening months. Exact dates can be found in our earlier post.
Now, Disney has announced that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will not be included in Extra Magic Hours or Morning Magic in the “opening months”. While an exact timeframe hasn’t been released, it’s likely that it will follow the same land-access registration timeline already announced.
That said, guests will have registration into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge included in their hotel reservation.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World
While Disney seems to be very concerned about crowd levels at Disneyland, there are no registration requirements or otherwise needed at Walt Disney World.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be included in Extra Magic Hours for select Walt Disney World Resort guests from opening day. What hotels are part of the “select” hotels is yet to be revealed.
UPDATE: After speaking with Disney, they have stated that all Walt Disney World Resorts will qualify for Extra Magic Hours, but the partner hotels will not qualify. Our story continues below.
Keep in mind that Disney has announced that FastPass will not be offered for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run when the lands open at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
