Additional details for Flight of Passage ride appear in Mickey Monitor newsletter to Annual Passholders

The Mickey Monitor Annual Passholder newsletter was recently released, and with it came a few more tidbits about Flight of Passage.

According to James Cameron (writer/director/producer of Avatar), we’re guided along by an experienced Na’vi flying on an Ikran, or banshee, ahead of us. He goes on to say, “On my particular flight, the toruk came pretty close – a little scary there for a minute, but we all got through it okay.” Emphasis added by us.

That passage was of interest to us because it appears that there may be multiple “flights” to go on, maybe like Star Tours has different destinations. Of course, parsing words isn’t always the most reliable way to get to the truth, but if we do get to go on multiple flights, the re-rideability increases greatly for Flights of Passage.

We also got a new look at the floating mountains that we’ll be able to walk under. Joe Rohde of Walt Disney Imagineering noted that the scale of these floating mountains are what excited him most about the new land.

Pandora – The World of Avatar officially opens on May 27th, with soft openings possible a week or more in advance.
