Twitter user @bioreconstruct has taken to the skies again to get a look at the current state of Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. In this latest set of photos we can see prep work for the short tunnel the Slinky Dog Coaster will use to pass under guests, a large facade being constructed to hide the parking structure, and progress on the Alien Swirling Saucers. First, let’s take a look at the concept art for the land. I would put out the nicely polished Disney concept art, but it’s slightly altered and outdated from the art seen below.
First, a very wide overview of the land. The building that you see in the bottom left of the photo will stay standing and act as a warehouse. It sits between Star Wars Land to the southeast and Toy Story Land to the north.
Here’s a photo from the opposite angle.
In this third overview photo, you can see the large facade wall being constructed to hide the parking garage from guests as they walk through Toy Story Land. The beige building in the top right of the photo is the show building for Toy Story Midway Mania. As you can see, they’ve walled off a section that will be a new entrance to the attraction once Toy Story Land opens.
Narrowing our focus a bit, we can start to see the details of the work being done. On the left side of the image, you can see footings for the Slinky Dog Coaster. The arm of the crane almost perfectly aligns with a guest pathway that will go over the coaster. Above that, we can see the circular tables that will be used for the Alien Swirling Saucers attraction. There is also a facade being constructed in front of the building on the right. This building will house the queue and coaster barn for the Slinky Dog Coaster.
Speaking of the coaster, we can barely make out the first length of track installed in what will likely turn out the be the station.
A closer look at some of the footings for the coaster.
Here’s a closer look at area where guests will walk over the track of Slinky Dog Coaster. You can also see the same bit of track that we looked at above next to the building.
Here’s another angle of the Alien Swirling Saucer attraction.

This last shot looks towards the south end of Toy Story Land, where it will eventually meet up with Star Wars Land. World Drive is pictured in the bottom left of the photo.
Toy Story Land is scheduled to open in 2018.
