Following months (years, really) of work, the first shaded seating area is now open at Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. The work has been to address guest complaints of a lack of cover from the sun and rain in a themed land that lacks shade. It’s wonderful to see Walt Disney World address the complaints, although we wished that they would’ve moved faster on the project. Here’s a look!
Shaded Seating Area Opens at Woody’s Lunch Box
Only a small portion of the covered seating area has opened to guests, but more looks ready to open over the coming weeks. While the cover will certainly be effective against the sun for those seated under it, I think it’s just a bit too tall to be effective against rain, especially with any sort of a breeze. I’m sure that theory will be put to the test soon as we head into the rainy Summer months at Walt Disney World.
Also worth noting is that early morning photos don’t effectively showcase the shade element of the structure, but it’ll become more apparent as the sun continues to rise overhead.
Other areas remain under construction at this time.
