Following months of earnest construction and years of tax-advantaged construction, some new shade structures have arrived at Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. Construction of the shade structures still keeps about half of the seating area behind construction planters. That said, it doesn’t look like Disney plans on keeping construction walls in place for too long as they have already removed overflow seating in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Here’s a look around!
New Shade Structures at Woody’s Lunch Box
The new shade structures, while welcome, are only located around the K’nex tower. There is still a lot of seating that remains uncovered heading into the warm and wet Summer months at Walt Disney World. Perhaps there are more shade structures on the way.
As you’d expect, the shade structures are still in the process of construction, and they are currently being outfitted with electricity – likely for fans or even lighting.
In terms of the final look of the new shade structures, we can expect them to carry on the K’nex look. Here’s a look at some of the existing platforms part of the K’nex tower – some with soldiers and some with blocks.
Finally, it’s worth noting that these are not the first shade structures to be added to Woody’s Lunch Box after the land opened in 2018. For a couple of years now, there has been an ongoing project to add a shade structure near the back of the seating area. Here’s to hoping that we don’t have to wait much longer for this latest work to wrap up.
