This spring and summer, Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be operating at a reduced capacity due to refurbishment. Instead of closing the entire attraction, work will take place on one elevator shaft at a time. Disney describes the work as “planned maintenance”, and it has been on the maintenance schedule for some time now.
During the reduced capacity, Disney will limit the number of FastPasses available on a daily basis to allow as many guests as possible the ability to enjoy the Tower of Terror. FastPass+ will return to regular operation once maintenance is completed.
The work comes at a period of lighter attendance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ahead of the debut of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway later this Fall. An exact date for when the maintenance is set start and finish is not available at this time.
