This past weekend was the first Disney Jollywood Nights event of the 2024 Holiday Season, and we were in attendance to check out what’s new, what’s changed, and what’s returning this year. As you’ve probably heard by now, Disney Jollywood Nights had a rough debut last year during its first year as an event, but Disney is sticking with the concept and making some changes this year. One of the returning favorite offerings is the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club near the Tower of Terror attraction. Let’s take a look at what we love about it, along with some new improvements for 2024!
Tip Top Club Twilight Soirée at Disney Jollywood Nights
The Tip Top Club bar operations were the recipient of a lot of negative reviews last year due to having essentially zero theming and low throughput. Thankfully, those issues have been remedied this year, along with some improvements to the offering as a whole.
The premise is that you’re invited to the Tip Top Club’s annual Twilight Soirée, and the band Rachel and the Alley Cats are the entertainment for the evening. On the menu are wonderful drinks and holiday-themed music. Before we take a look at the entertainment, let’s grab a drink (or two).
The Tip Top Club bar is set back in a walkway normally reserved for access to Fantasmic. Lighting has been added to the area, and there are two velvet rope-lined queues that lead to the bar area (double the capacity of opening night last year). Cast Members are dressed in Hollywood Tower Hotel costumes, and an additional Cast Member is available to help manage the queue if needed.
There are two alcoholic drinks available, and they both come in a souvenir plastic champagne flute. Here’s a closer look at the drinks offered:
- 1939 Royale ($9.50): Teremana Blanco Tequila, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, desert pear, agave nectar, and lime juice topped with Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut served in a Disney Jollywood Nights Champagne Flute
- Top Floor Daiquiri ($9.50): Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, ube, lime juice, and a splash of shimmer served in a Disney Jollywood Nights Champagne Flute
Other drinks are offered, including non-alcoholic drinks, but they are not served in the souvenir plastic champagne flutes.
Ok, with a drink in hand, it was time to head over to the Twilight Soirée. It’s worth noting that there are specific set times for the band (as you’d imagine), but even when the band isn’t playing, area entertainment is offered. In between sets, we met Jack Flash and his wife Josephine!
Once it was time for Rachel and the Alley Cats to take the stage, the Flash’s were gone in a…flash, and the focus was on the jazz band.
As you might expect, the swingin’ holiday tunes are back this year, along with two new dancers: Hollywood legends Chip Calloway and Cookie Fitzgerald! The dancers start on the Hollywood Tower Hotel balcony before making their way to the dance floor in front of the stage.
Cookie and Chip dance together for a little while before reaching into the crowd and encouraging guests to join in – you may even get to dance with one of them!
Overall, the Tip Top Club Twilight Soirée remains one of the brightest spots of Disney Jollywood Nights and we recommend that you visit it for at least a dance or two during your visit!
