Latest Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Aerial Photos Show Multiple Ships Have Landed in Disneyland

With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge scheduled for this summer at Disneyland, Disney Imagineers are in the process of installing the larger props before they put the finishing touches on the land. Thanks to some new imagery from our friends at Nearmap, we have a first look at the ships that have landed on Batuu as well as an overview of the land as a whole. The following imagery was taken late last month.

We’ll start in the forest of Batuu, where the Resistance has thrown together a makeshift base of operations since the First Order arrived a few weeks ago. There will be two distinct areas of Galaxy’s Edge, and it’s said that the areas are so distinct, it almost feels like Disney has created two different lands. Let’s take a closer look!

As you can see in the photo below, there are two ships parked across from the entrance to the Rise of the Resistance attraction. The bigger of the two appears to be a Blue Squadron X-Wing, which we saw in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the movie, Poe Dameron was the leader of the Blue Squadron, which is fitting given his role in the nearby attraction. More on that in a minute.

Next, we see what appears to be the A-Wing fighter parked just to the lower left of the Blue Squadron X-Wing. This ship was most recently used on screen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

We said that Poe Dameron will play a critical role in the Rise of the Resistance attraction, and we have to look no further than the exit of the attraction to find his ship – the Black One X-Wing. We can see it in the bottom left of the photo below, with it’s black body and orange markings. As outlined in the story description for Rise of the Resistance, Poe will escort you to your mission and possibly play a critical role in saving you from the First Order before your return to Batuu. The large structure in the upper right of the below image is believed to be the exit to the ride.

Another section of the aerial photos provided to us by Nearmap shows what will likely be the exterior queue for the Rise of the Resistance attraction. The entrance is said to be in the upper right of the photo below, with the queue winding through a bit of the forest before going inside the caves that the Resistance are using to mount an attack on the First Order.

Moving to the complete opposite side of Batuu, we find the recently leaked Tie Echelon fighter. We can see it being worked on in the middle of the image below.

Of course, the most popular ship in Galaxy’s Edge will be the Millennium Falcon. We were the first to bring you imagery of the Millennium Falcon under construction late last year, and with the photo below, it appears to be completed.

Also of note is the Sienar-Chall Utilipede-Transport parked on top of Docking Bay 7. You can read more about Docking Bay 7 in our comprehensive food and drink overview for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

    Here’s an on-the-ground look at the Sienar-Chall Utilipede-Transport.

Moving on from the ships of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we have an overview of the Marketplace area of Black Spire Outpost.

Finally, here’s an overview of the construction progress as of late last month.

Nearmap also sent us an overview photo from about a year ago to show the progress made on the land.
