First Look Inside the Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Our coverage of all things Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge continues with a first look inside the Droid Depot!

If you’re looking to take home your very own R or BB unit, you’ll want to make a stop at the Droid Depot. Guests will be able to select a variety of options including the Dome, Dome Plate, Body Sphere, and Motivator in the BB-series units and a Dome, Body, Center Leg, and set of Side-Legs for the R-series units off of a conveyor belt when constructing their droid.

Here’s the concept art, for comparison.

After registering for your choice of the BB-series unit or R-series unit with the clerk, they’ll provide a basket and blueprint for parts. Next, you’ll select from a colorful variety of components to customize your droid as they roll by on the shop’s conveyor belt.

Heading over to the build station, you’ll follow simple “placemat” instructions or graphic monitor displays to assemble your droid in the proper sequence. Once complete, your droid will be paired with a remote control and activated as you watch it come to life!

Each droid is $99.99, plus tax. These droids use Bluetooth® technology to communicate with other astromech droid units as well as certain other elements and objects on Batuu and at Disney Parks and Resorts.
