Welcome to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs. Today, we make the journey out here in search for the exotic and all-new Temple of Bacon dessert. The dessert features a partnership with The Ganachery, which can be found just steps away from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Let’s take a bite!
Temple of Bacon – $13
The Temple of Bacon is a dessert featuring five strips of Applewood Smoked bacon, dipped in a milk and chipotle ganache and served under a glass dome. The presentation here is excellent for a single dessert and enough to get us to spend $13.
The dessert is brought out to your table under a Applewood smoke, hiding the Temple of Bacon behind a mysterious layer of “fog”. As your server lifts the glass dome, the Temple of Bacon reveals itself as five strips, Stonehenge-style and frozen to the plate. The bacon themselves aren’t as thick as advertised, but the amount of chocolate they’re dipped in makes up for that. Partnering with The Ganachery just up The Landing, Hangar Bar has these smoked pieces of bacon half dipped in their luscious milk chocolate.
Ok, time to take a bite and find out if the Temple of Bacon is worth getting on your next trip to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.
The bacon is a little extra smoky, you can smell the Applewood smoke long before and after you consume the savory feast. The milk chocolate was the high quality we’ve come to expect from The Ganachery. The pairing of a smokey bacon and a milk chocolate is a smart one. You immediately taste the smokiness, followed by a sweet chocolate finish.
Five pieces for $13 comes in to over $2.50/piece, but you’re getting a dish that’s top tier quality. It’s a delicious dish with a fun presentation. If you find yourself over by Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, we can recommend popping in to enjoy the Temple of Bacon.
