The same Yahoo sports writer that really kicked off the discussions about the NBA possibly finishing their season at the Walt Disney World Resort has new info about the accommodations the players, coaches, and staff will likely stay at.
Keith Smith is reporting that Disney and the NBA are closing in on a deal that would see the players, coaches, and staff stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Utilizing the resort makes a lot of sense from a logistics standpoint. With over 2,000 rooms, a campus-style layout, a brand new tower hotel (Gran Destino), convention center space, and plenty of amenities for players and staff, Coronado Springs is one of the best resort areas on paper.
Smith said that other resorts could be under consideration, but Coronado Springs offers the best overall package.
Smith also said that the agreement could be signed as early as this week, allowing the NBA and Disney World to start making preparations quickly for the NBA season to resume at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
