Construction on the Tron Lightcycle Run roller coaster has resumed at Magic Kingdom after being halted back in mid-March. While we spotted temperature check areas set up for construction crew days ago, we finally can report that construction has resumed and crews could be seen on the site.
The resumption of work comes days after the President of Walt Disney Imagineering said that Tron would be one of many projects around property that would restart in phases, possibly missing the 2021 opening date. That said, if crews and supply chains are able to resume now, they might be able to still open sometime next year, even if it’s not in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest Disney Parks news and photos. We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests on July 11th!
This story made my day, GREAT NEWS!
I don’t do coasters, but really want this one finished so they can reopen the railroad!
Ah yes, that’s a good point. Magic Kingdom does need its railroad back.
