As Disney World continues to adjust its operations to work in a “new normal”, character interactions have been modified in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. When the land first opened, we praised the decision to have characters roaming the land, albeit in a reduced capacity versus what was originally advertised. It wasn’t uncommon to see Rey talking to new recruits, Chewbacca teaching younglings how to spy, or even Kylo Ren roaming the streets flanked by Stormtroopers.
Due to social distancing, these interactions can no longer take place, but Disney didn’t cut out character interactions altogether. In this post, we’ll go over what character interactions still take place in the land, and where you can find them.
Rey and Chewbacca
Rey and Chewbacca often meet together and meet at the Speeder garage. The speeder garage is pictured below, and can be found across from Ronto Roasters, and across from the Droid Depot. This area was actually built out with the plan of adding a show of sorts to the walkway seen above the garage. As a matter of fact, Disney has put on shows here, but only for media events and not for the general public.
While none of the character interaction times are published, you’ll likely see one of the character interactions that we’ll discuss in this article happening every 15 minutes or so, with some overlap. Rey will have conversations with anyone who wants to talk about the Resistance. For that matter, Chewbacca will have a conversation too, but nobody can understand what he’s saying.
Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers
Guests looking to find Kylo Ren on Batuu can head over to the Tie Echelon fighter. It’s impossible to miss, but if you need some directions, head towards the Milk Stand and you’ll find the Tie Echelon parked on a stage that Kylo Ren and the Stormtroopers stand on to be socially distanced.
Kylo will continue his interrogations of the citizens of Batuu by calling over guests towards him.
Vi Moradi
The final character that we’ve spotted in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is Vi Moradi. Vi is a spy for the Resistance and can be found over at the same garage that Rey and Chewbacca meet at. She’s often found trying to dodge stormtroopers to steal secrets for the Resistance.
She’ll also be happy to stop for a quick chat about the latest activity in Batuu.
While you’ll no longer see characters roaming the streets of Batuu (for now), they are still around and happy to chat it up with (or interrogate) you as you step into your own Star Wars adventure.
