Orange County California has been upgraded to the “red” tier of the state of California color system for COVID-19, according to the state of California website. This means that Orange County has displayed a positive downward trend in COVID-19 data such as new cases per 100,000 people and positivity rate.
Previously, Orange County was in the “purple” tier, which represented “widespread” risk, versus the upgraded “red” tier which represents a “substantial” risk.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said that “progress is being made”, but still isn’t allowing Disneyland to reopen.
According to our own sources, Disneyland has been internally targeting a September 28th opening date, but is still waiting for the official go-ahead from the state. Disney Parks Chairman, and former Disneyland President, Josh D’Amaro has stated that they are “ready to go” and have been since their previously announced July 17th reopening date.
