As we told you earlier this year, Disneyland Paris is undertaking an ambitious solar energy initiative that will create one of the largest European solar canopy plants when completed. Today, Disneyland Paris released some new concept art and a short video highlighting the benefits of the project. Here’s a look!

The project looks like a wonderful addition to the resort and something that we desperately need here in Florida. While Disney has rolled out a massive solar farm at Walt Disney World that is capable of powering two of their four theme parks, it is located in a corner of property that is seldom seen by the average guest. Adding any sort of canopy to the hot Walt Disney World parking lots would be a major guest convenience, and making them solar would align with existing plans by the resort.

All of this is to say that we’re extremely pleased to see Disneyland Paris implement something that is a win-win, and we hope Walt Disney World is able to seriously consider a similar addition.
