Disney World’s Return to Normal: No More Space While Parking Cars

Welcome to a series we’re calling “Disney World’s Return to Normal“. As we continue to keep a close eye on the operations around Walt Disney World, we are noticing some policies are relaxed or discontinued as Disney World returns to normal. It has been more than a year since the Disney Parks around the world were closed, and as more and more Americans are vaccinated, we’ll see Disney start to relax policies around the theme parks and resorts. We’ll continue to update you on Disney World’s return to normal via a series of articles.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney World encouraged physical distancing of at least 6ft from the moment you arrived at their theme parks to the moment you left. One such measure was spacing out cars by leaving a space open between cars while parking. With physical distancing requirements now lessened, Disney has gone back to parking cars next to each other without leaving space between them.

Honestly, this was one of the modified protocols we had hoped would stick around. By leaving a space between cars, the unloading process was so much easier. From not having to worry about banging doors to extra space to unload your kids, strollers, etc, the extra space was very much appreciated.

COVID-19 protocol parking spacing

Unfortunately, it seems like those days are a thing of the past. It is worth noting that we saw some spacing taking place for afternoon arrivals, but with so few guests arriving in the afternoons, late parking has always been more relaxed than at park open.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
