The tower cranes may be gone, but that doesn’t mean that construction is slowing down at the TRON Lightcycle Run construction site. Now in it’s 1,256th day of construction, a new structure has gone vertical on the TRON Lightcycle Run construction site.
The structure, which sits just to the left of where a tunnel will provide passage under the roller coaster for the Walt Disney World Railroad, appears to be a backstage support building, but it may be too early to know for sure.
Here’s an aerial photo of the slab of concrete where this structure is being erected. We can see the area of interest in the middle left of the photo, near the orange high reach cranes. Photo courtesy of bioreconstruct.
Back on the ground now, here’s a closer look at the work taking place today.
Other areas appear ready for hardscape work.
Elsewhere on the construction site, crews continue to install temporary safety netting ahead of the installation of translucent panels that will be used to bring the canopy to life.
