Savi’s Workshop Custom Lightsabers is now offering a temporary 10% discount for the entire experience due to a lack of carrying cases due to supply chain issues. The discount was enacted after social media backlash two days ago when we wrote that Disney was offering guests a plastic bag for their premium lightsaber, or told to purchase a carrying case from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for $50.
Cast Members were very careful to note that the 10% discount is only temporary while the carrying cases are out-of-stock due to supply chain issues. The 10% discount offered takes the price of the experience back to what it was this time last year – before a $20 price hike was rolled out in April 2021.
We want to commend the Galaxy’s Edge team for acknowledging that the carrying case is a part of the experience, and not a “complimentary addition” which was how it was communicated to guests who asked for an explanation two days ago.
When we asked today, Cast Members were unsure how long the supply chain issues would persist, but we were told two days ago that the shortage could last until Spring.
