During our visit to Magic Kingdom this morning, we took a lap on the Tomorrowland PeopleMover to check in on construction progress at the TRON Lightcycle Run site. What we found was an increase in testing cadence for the ride vehicles, but an apparent stall in progress on the Walt Disney World Railroad.
We’ll first check in with the tunnel, which hasn’t seen any significant progress in weeks. For comparison, here’s a look at the tunnel from earlier today…

Work on the Fantasyland side of the tunnel hasn’t progressed from what we can see either.

Here’s a wider look at where the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks will run to connect the Fantasyland station on the north side of TRON to the existing railroad track in Tomorrowland. It looks like curbing has been recently installed, perhaps for a walkway adjacent to the tracks.
Where we are seeing some progress is in the landscaping department over in Tomorrowland proper. Here’s a look at newly planted trees and bushes.
Disney has not announced a reopening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad, and has not announced an opening date for TRON Lightcycle Run. All eyes will be on Parks chief Josh D’Amaro at the D23 Expo in less than two weeks.

The track laying may be awaiting the concrete pours to be complete for the remaining walls and curbs along the right of way. The time needed to lay the track should be a relatively quick.
