As the Disneyland Resort prepares to be the headquarters of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary celebrations, there have been a series of signage blunders that have incorrectly labeled “Walt Disneyworld” and incorrectly labeled opening dates for attractions. Those are seemingly minor compared to the latest blunder that incorrectly quotes Walt Disney on the centerpiece Mickey Mouse statue on Main Street USA. In the photo below, shared by Darin Munnell on Twitter, there is a quote under Mickey Mouse stating “It All Started With A Mouse”.

Of course, fans of The Walt Disney Company will know that Walt Disney famously said “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse”.
There was a 1989 documentary special on the Disney Channel called “It All Started With a Mouse: The Disney Story”, but it seems unlikely that the statue is referencing a Disney Channel documentary, and instead incorrectly quoting Walt Disney, the founder of the company.
The Disney100 celebration begins January 27, 2023 at the Disneyland Resort.

Really? Who’s minding the store?
A truncated quote is NOT a misquote
Except the words on the “truncated quote” don’t even match what Walt Disney said in the video
Agreed. Seems like this was a click bait article. I hate that.
The quote, even “truncated”, does not match the words Walt Disney said in the video
Maybe it’s not a quote. It might just be a statement. They’ve used completely incorrect quotes (ie “If you can dream it, you can do it.”) on construction signage frequently so if it is an incorrect quote, it’s not like it’s the first time.
