UPDATE: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Expected to Reopen Summer 2024 Following Routine Maintenance

After news this morning that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would be closed starting January 8th, we now have more information about when the ride will reopen. It is expected that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will reopen in summer 2024 following routine maintenance. An exact date for a reopening has not been set, and a retheme of the attraction is not expected during the work.

Earlier this year, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was closed from February 2023 through the end of May 2023. Disney did not officially comment on the work that took place during the 2023 refurbishment period, but permits suggested extensive work inside the building, including likely work on the track. When it reopened, the only noticeable changes were much more vibrant sets thanks to a likely head-to-toe repaint.
