Good morning from Magic Kingdom, where there has been a significant milestone in the construction of a previously-announced Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar. This morning, merchandise from the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar gift shop has been moved to the temporarily shuttered Tortuga Tavern. While many thought the shuttering of Tortuga Tavern was so that the Pirates bar could be built there, that was not the case. As we have previously noted, the bar is very likely going to be located in the old Pirates League space, and Disney has expanded construction walls in the area to support that thought.
As part of the expansion of construction walls in the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar open-air gift shop, merchandise has been moved across the street to the renamed Tortuga Treasures gift shop. Here’s a look around!

Pirates Bar Construction Walls
With Tortuga Treasures doing the heavy lifting for merchandise, all merchandise has been cleared out of the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar gift shop. The exit for the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction remains the same, and the ride will remain open during the work. As you can see below, most of the gift shop has been enveloped by construction walls.
