With the canopy completely demolished, crews are starting to work on some hardscape at the main entrance to Test Track. We’ll start with a look at the facade from inside EPCOT before getting a better vantage point from the monorail that runs through the park.
Test Track Hardscape Work
We can’t see anything of note from in front of the attraction, but perhaps that is notable in and of itself. The canopy has long been lamented by fans, and with its removal, we get to see hints of the classic World of Motion facade staring back at us.
Ok, boarding the monorail now, we snapped a few photos as we passed across the construction site, from left to right. As we can see, the car atop the marquee has been removed and crews will eventually rework it to match the new concept art of the exterior.
The most notable work is the demolition of some of the hardscape at the entrance to the attraction. This is likely to allow crews some access under the pavement to work on new footers for the new, smaller, and sleeker overhang that will protect Cast Members from the unforgiving Florida sun.
As we continue past the construction site, we can see just how much real estate there is in front of the ride with the canopy now fully removed.
