As we continue to keep an eye on the Test Track 3.0 reimagining at EPCOT, we have a look at a new permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering this month. The permit calls for “electrical work” from contractor Pro Audio Video Inc., which has done some theme park work in the past. If we had to guess, the work is likely for the interior portion of the experience – either ride or queue. The permit doesn’t offer any additional information as to the scope of the work.
That said, we’re impressed with the pace of construction here. It seems like there has been a bit of a switch flipped on the pace of construction on major projects. The impressive pace seemed to begin with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and has continued with the Test Track reimagining. It will be interesting to see if that quicker-than-normal pace continues for the Tropical Americas reimagining of DinoLand USA, which kicks off next month.
Going back to commentary on the Test Track reimagining, while we can’t see into the ride to get a better idea of what’s changing, we did recently take a lap on the EPCOT monorail to find that work is underway on creating the footers for the new entrance to the attraction. Check out our article below for a closer look at the recent work!
Test Track 3.0 Description
Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive (pun intended) on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow. Imagineers are reaching back into history for inspiration – from the original World of Motion – and bringing that spirit of optimism to the next iteration of the Test Track attraction. But, before we get too far down this winding road, Test Track will celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future. The queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room celebrate the vehicles – and people behind the vehicles – that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey.
New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route reminding us all of the joys of driving, taking in the world around us and spending quality time with friends and family.
