According to a report from WDWMAGIC, it is expected that a phased closure of DinoLand USA offerings is set to begin before the holiday season kicks off. It is expected that the phased closure will begin sometime in November or early December. Walt Disney World has not responded to requests for comment about the rumored closure.
Disney has previously announced that the transformation of DinoLand USA would happen in phases, and it is believed that the DINOSAUR attraction will not be part of this initial wave of closures. Instead, it is believed that the carnival-themed Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama will be the first to close as Disney begins work on bringing an Encanto-themed attraction to the area. Walt Disney World has previously announced that construction would begin this Fall, but the scope of the construction remains unclear.
In the photo below, we have taken the Tropical Americas concept art and overlaid the names of the current DinoLand USA attractions and offerings. As you can see, the “right” side of the land can remain open, including DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus, while construction takes place on the “left” side of the land for the Encanto-themed attraction.
Again, Walt Disney World has not responded to requests for comment, and they have not announced any closures of DinoLand USA offerings at this time. Unless and until Disney World makes an announcement, you should consider the information in this article unofficial and unconfirmed.
