According to the Walt Disney World website, Kali River Rapids is scheduled to reopen on March 14th at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The whitewater rafting water ride has been closed since January 6th for its annual refurbishment. Due to historically colder temperatures, Walt Disney World typically closes Kali River Rapids for a couple of months at the start of the year.
Kali River Rapids
Kali River Rapids is a you-will-get-wet water ride in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It invites you to skim across an erupting geyser, drift below a canopy of lush vegetation, and be whisked along fast-moving rapids. The ride takes you past (and under) gushing waterfalls and bedrock amid the raging current.
Kali River Rapids originally opened back on March 1st, 1999. Guests ride in 12-person rafts on the exciting Chakranadi River (meaning: river that runs in a circle).
