Walt Disney World Shortens Hours at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure & Kali River Rapids During Cold Snap

|

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is operating on a shortened schedule this weekend as a cold snap moves through Florida. The temperatures will get dangerously low tonight and into tomorrow, triggering a rare Extreme Cold Warning for the Walt Disney World area. Possibly as a result of the colder weather, Walt Disney World has shortened operating hours at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Here’s the latest.

Shortened Hours at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure During Cold Snap

While visiting Magic Kingdom this morning, we noticed that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was not open with the rest of the park. Unfortunately, that’s not necessarily uncommon for the Splash Mountain replacement. What was out of the ordinary was that the ride wasn’t listed on the My Disney Experience app. Typically, it is listed as temporarily closed when it is closed due to a technical difficulty. Its absence in the app was strange.

We spoke with a Cast Member who told us that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure would be opening at 11am. As it turns out, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will have delayed openings and early closings for multiple days during this ongoing cold snap.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Operating Hours During Cold Snap

  • January 31 | 11am to 9pm
  • February 1 | 11am to 7pm
  • February 2 | 11am to 8pm

Starting February 3rd, the operating hours appear to go back to normal. While Walt Disney World hasn’t officially announced that the shortened operating hours are due to the cold weather, they have adjusted operating hours at another outdoor water ride as well.

Like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Walt Disney World has shortened operating hours at Kali River Rapids, an outdoor water ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here’s a look at the shortened hours:

  • February 1 | 11am to 6pm
  • February 2 | 11am to 6pm

Like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Kali River Rapids appears to resume normal operating hours on February 3rd.

Walt Disney World has prepared for the dangerously low temperatures by covering at-risk flowerbeds around the theme parks and resorts. The wind chill is expected to dip to just 8° overnight tonight into tomorrow.
