Walt Disney Imagineering has filed another permit for set installation at the upcoming Encanto-themed ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The permit comes after Imagineering reached a major milestone last month by installing the final piece of steel for the Encanto ride building. Here’s the latest!
Imagineering Files Another Permit for Set Installation at Encanto Ride
The new Notice of Commencement permit, filed by Walt Disney Imagineering yesterday, lists an address previously tied to the Encanto ride. The permit lists Mecca Productions as the contractor for the project and has a standard expiration date of one year from the filing.
Mecca Productions is also working on the Indiana Jones ride in the Tropical Americas Land. The Indiana Jones ride will feature an all-new, unique story for a Disney theme park attraction, while reusing the DINOSAUR ride system and layout.
Beyond the Tropical Americas project, Mecca is also working on the Muppets retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Mecca has also installed set elements at the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refresh, wrapping up at Magic Kingdom soon.
In terms of the attraction itself, we imagine that the ride will take guests through the magical Casita, introducing us to different characters from the Madrigal family along the way. We believe that the attraction will culminate with a massive show scene, pictured below, where guests move through the lush room belonging to Antonio.
