What Is Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift?
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is Universal Studios Hollywood’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster. It’s themed to the long-running Fast & Furious film franchise. Individual ride vehicles use 360-degree rotation technology, creating a drifting sensation as guests spin in motion at speeds up to 72 mph. The track stretches 4,100 feet, the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields. Its layout winds over sections of the park, including the multi-level Starway escalator that connects the Upper and Lower Lots.
A red brick, garage-like structure on the Upper Lot houses the coaster. Guests board one of four ride vehicles modeled after iconic cars from the film franchise. The lineup includes Dominic Toretto’s black 1970 Dodge Charger, Han Seoul-oh’s Mazda RX-7, Brian O’Conner’s blue Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Brian O’Conner’s orange Toyota Supra. Each vehicle includes custom detailing tied to its film counterpart, down to onboard audio and interior styling.
