A Monsters, Inc. merchandise cart is now in the middle of Grand Avenue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, right outside the Monstropolis construction walls. The cart carries mostly Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University items, along with a few products from other Disney characters and IPs. It takes the spot of a beverage cart that has moved a bit farther up the street. Monsters fans can now shop for merchandise before Monstropolis opens next year.

Construction walls for Monstropolis have lined this part of Grand Avenue for some time now, and the cart sits in the middle of the street in front of them. Disney says Monstropolis will open in phases starting in 2027, so the cart gives Monsters fans a place for on-a-whim shopping well ahead of the land’s debut.
The cart is a metal design with a stepped, Art Deco-style top and a bright blue umbrella. Open shelves and hanging racks keep the merchandise visible to guests walking by.
Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University Merchandise
Clothing and bags lean on Monsters University branding. A faded blue Monsters University T-shirt with a tongue-in-cheek extra-large size graphic hangs front and center. Two Monsters University caps sit on a shelf nearby. One is a blue MU cap with a distressed bill, and the other is a white and navy corduroy cap with a fuzzy Monsters University patch. Loungefly mini backpacks with an MU front pocket and a character print sit on the lower shelf.
Sulley plush sit on the top shelf next to a yellow scream canister-style cup with red straws. Fuzzy Mike and Sulley ear headbands hang on the side of the cart.
The cart also carries a few items from other Disney characters. Animation-style ear headbands hang alongside the Monsters Inc. ears, and Tangled-themed ears in purple with gold details sit below them.
Scareporium and Monstropolis Shopping in 2027
Monstropolis already has a merchandise shop in the plans. Imagineer Chris Beatty described Scareporium as a place where “human tourists can grab a great souvenir to remember our visit.” Disney has not yet detailed what the shop will carry.
