REVIEW: The Honey Bee-stro – 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

The Honey Bee-stro – 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

As part of our 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival coverage, we bring you the Outdoor Kitchen review for The Honey Bee-stro. Located between Port of Entry and the Canada Pavilion, this Outdoor Kitchen features all-natural food and drink infused with honey.

    Roasted Cauliflower – $4.50

Served with Buckwheat Honey Carrot Puree, Wild Rice Pilaf, Asparagus, Honey Blistered Grapes, and Sunflower Brittle

This was probably the healthiest looking dish at the festival. A cauliflower sits atop a bed of other assorted veggies that amount to a solid portion. While the dish isn’t the most satisfying for my tastes, this is an option for those looking for more wholesome ingredients in their Disney vacation.

Honey Tandoori Chicken Flatbread – $5.25

Served with White Cheddar, Charred Vegetables, Clover Honey, Sour Cream, and Micro Watercress

A solid flatbread that is a decent enough portion for the money tendered. The chicken was cooked well although maybe a bit firm, and the different elements worked nicely. The clover honey was subtle and added a nice taste to the otherwise standard tasting flatbread.

    Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake – $4.75

Served with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses

This was a nice dessert that had traditional textures of cheesecake while remaining much lighter and even airy when compared to the generally dense nature of the dish. The flavors were nice, but again, the honey didn’t overpower.

    Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze – $10.25

    Served with Blueberry Vodka

Not quite honey and not quite peach, this cobbler freeze ended up being a miss for me. It tasted a bit to “medicinal” in my opinion, but some others in our group were able to tolerate it more than I did.

Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine – $5.00

I can say, unequivocally, that this wine was the worst item we tried at the festival. Nobody in the group was willing to take a second sip until we drew straws to decide who would finish it off. It’s a miss and not worth your money.
