We made it out to Disney Springs last night and found some new holiday libations at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. If you’ve never been to Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, the story of the bar is that of an old hangar used by Indiana Jones’ old pilot – Jock Lindsey. As the story goes, Jock found Disney Springs while searching for the Fountain of Youth. He used the hanger for years before turning it into the bar that it is today. Here’s a look around.
In addition to the indoor seating, guests can use a vast outdoor patio.
Let’s dive into the new drinks!
Jock Frost – $11.50
Malibu Rum, Rumchata Caribbean Rum, Blue Curacao Liqueur and Pineapple Juice
First up is the Jock Frost. A striking blue drink arrives in a frozen state with a bit of foam on top. Both of these drinks are “dangerous” in the sense that they go down quite easily. I would say that the Jock Frost went down easier than the Holiday Nog simply because it was more tropical in flavor.
In the Jock Frost you’re going to get an overarching flavor of pineapple juice with suggestions of Blue Curacao Liqueur and the Malibu Rum. Again, it’s not overpowering in the slightest. If you’re going to pick between the Jock Frost and the Holiday Nog, we’d suggest you keep reading.
Jock’s Holiday Nog – $12.50
Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Frangelico Liqueur, Rumchata Caribbean Rum, Vanilla and topped with Peppermint Candies
This was the real winner of the two for us. The Jock’s Holiday Nog is, visually, much more festive with a flavor to match. When bringing the drink up to your nose, you’re met with a traditional peppermint aroma thanks to the peppermint sprinkles.
The peppermint floats on top of the drink as you enjoy it, which means that you’ll enjoy a small peppermint shaving in most sips.
As far as flavor is concerned, you’re going to get hints of vanilla paired with the Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Compared to the Jock Frost, it’s a “stronger” drink, but it still goes down easier than probably 90% of the drinks on the menu. If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, you can’t go wrong with the Jock’s Holiday Nog!
