While visiting Magic Kingdom earlier today, we noticed that Disney World has opened the rebuilt staircase for the Frontierland Station. The Frontierland Station is one of three stops along the Walt Disney World Railroad, and the entrance staircase was rebuilt after receiving a few dollars as part of the nearby Tiana’s Bayou Adventure project.
Along with the fully rebuilt stairs, the Frontierland Station now has an all-new entrance sign. Perhaps notably, the all-new sign does not say “Frontierland” on it like the former entrance sign used to say. Of course, the building itself still features the Forntierland signage at this time. The staircase is right where the old staircase was, and follows a similar design.
The reopening of the traditional entrance means that the temporary entrance (that was also fully rebuilt last year) is now an exit only for the train. The entrance/exit ramp still exists and was untouched during the work.
With the rebuilt entrance now open, the ticketing/waiting area in the Frontierland station is also open again. It has been closed recently and busier days have meant that the line has stretched into the nearby streets of Frontierland. There were no immediately obvious changes to this area, but we’ll probably take a closer look once the dust has settled on the nearby Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction. Blurring the lines between the Frontierland Station update and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, here’s a peek into the construction site where the Laughin’ Place playground used to be. Currently, there is no obvious work taking place to create a new playground, but work is still ongoing.
