Critter Co-Op To Remain Open, Bayou General Closing

Disney’s operational calendar first showed the Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s Bayou General as closing alongside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on November 2nd. We now have an update on that original report. Tiana’s Bayou General will still close for the duration of the refurbishment, Critter Co-Op will remain open to guests throughout the refurbishment period.

Tiana’s Bayou General and Critter Co-Op are both retail locations tied to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but they are not the same shop. Critter Co-Op is the attraction’s main gift shop, replacing the former Briar Patch location. It opened on June 30, 2024. Tiana’s Bayou General is a smaller shop at the ride’s exit. It opened two days earlier, on June 28, 2024, the same day as the attraction itself.

Critter Co-Op carries its own story within the larger Tiana’s Bayou Adventure theming. The space is founded by the critters Princess Tiana got to know and love in the bayou. Posters throughout the shop feature the same critter characters who also appear inside the attraction.

Refurbishment Timeline Recap

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closes at Magic Kingdom starting Monday, November 2nd, and is expected to reopen sometime in December 2026. This is the ride’s first extended closure since it opened on June 28, 2024, replacing Splash Mountain in Frontierland. We will continue to watch for updates on the reopening timeline as the refurbishment progresses.
