While visiting EPCOT recently, we stopped to capture some photos and video of the ongoing CommuniCore Hall nighttime lighting package testing ahead of the June 10th grand opening. As you may know, CommuniCore Hall will serve as a multi-purpose flex space throughout the year at EPCOT. During the Festivals, it will house exhibits and unique experiences starting with the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

At night, the exterior of the building will come alive, just like Spaceship Earth nearby. Crews have installed all of the lighting panels and are completing some finishing touches on the exterior as they continue to build out the interior of the venue. Last night, we visited EPCOT to grab some photos and video of the dancing light testing. Here’s a look!

And here are some photos of the testing. Of course, photos don’t really work for “dancing lights”, but here we are. When we visited last night, there were still two sections that we assume will be dancing in the future that weren’t testing.

We’ll start with the approach to CommuniCore Hall from Spaceship Earth. We really like this view (and the reverse view from CommuniCore Hall looking toward Spaceship Earth), and the lighting in the area changes with the Spaceship Earth light shows. As of right now, CommuniCore Hall lighting is testing independently of Spaceship Earth and the rest of World Celebration.

And here’s the reverse view looking toward Spaceship Earth that we were talking about. EPCOT looks awesome at night and I really wish that Disney World made it a late-night park (read: 11pm or later closures).
