The impressive Dok-Ondar audio-animatronic has been behind curtains on our recent visits to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cast Members at the location say that he has been on vacation for weeks and that they’re hopeful that he’ll return soon. From what we can tell, Dok-Ondar went “on vacation” sometime in early-to-mid April, and he wasn’t working during our visit today or on previous visits over the past couple of weeks.
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities is a shop found within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where guests can find collectibles from around the galaxy, including some from the shuttered Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser immersive experience. Hidden inside the den, you’ll encounter a rotating collection of unique items that include everything from jewelry, to ancient tools, to rare kyber crystals, to statues—and even a collection of famous lightsabers. The eclectic assortment of goods comes from many different planets and eras.
Dok-Ondar is an impressive figure, constantly moving around his station as calls come in from around the galaxy – presumably looking to offload some wares or to inquire about the latest trinkets to enter the den. In the hustle and bustle of Batuu, we love to stop in at the den from time to time just to watch Dok-Ondar at work, and we hope he’ll return soon!
When he is missing, a red curtain is pulled across his desk as seen below.
