Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns to Magic Kingdom on select nights this summer and fall. Disney’s premier Halloween event runs from August 9th to October 31st. In this guide, we’ll go over everything you need to know about the 2024 version of the event, using information from years past to help you craft a perfectly spooky evening at Magic Kingdom. Note that this article will be updated constantly between now and the start of the party season as more information becomes available. (Updated May 7, 2024)

    Dates & Prices

Walt Disney World has sort of broken from recent tradition and did not announce the exact dates with prices for the 2024 event. Instead, Disney gave a date range from August 9th to October 31st and a price range from $119 to $199. This represents the earliest-ever start to the party, and a price increase of $10 for the cheapest tickets. In short, the event starts earlier and will cost more than in years past.

It’s worth noting that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party completely sold out last year, as it typically does. That said, it was a slower pace compared to 2022, selling out completely by the end of September in 2023 versus nearly three weeks earlier in 2022.

Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels were given access to purchase Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets on May 8, 2024. All other Guests were able to purchase tickets starting on May 15, 2024.

    Entertainment

In terms of entertainment, there is one big stage show in front of Cinderella Castle, and then there are smaller shows and pop-up offerings in Tomorrowland and Frontierland. Additionally, there are interactive characters in Liberty Square and Adventureland. There is also a twice-nightly parade that is a must-see for us every time we attend.

Here’s a rundown of what has been confirmed for 2024, including showtimes, where available!

    Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

    Showtimes
Event nights from August 9 through September 28, 2024:

    • 9:05 PM
    • 10:40 PM
    • 12:00 AM

Event nights from September 29 through October 31, 2024:

    • 7:40 PM
    • 9:05 PM
    • 10:40 PM
    • 12:00 AM

    American Sign Language Interpretation
American Sign Language interpretation will be offered at select shows on the following dates:

    • Friday, August 23, 2024
    • Thursday, September 26, 2024
    • Thursday, October 24, 2024

The premier stage show at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. The show takes place on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage in front of the iconic Cinderella Castle, shown three times per night in August and September, and four times per night in October once the sun starts to set a bit earlier.

The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular features the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus as they put together the Hocus Pocus Party Potion, compiled from various attributes from different Disney villains. It’s a wonderfully produced and written show that features some of your favorite villains, songs we all love, and excellent choreography.

It’s hard to believe, but the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will celebrate its 9th anniversary this year, debuting all the way back in 2015. We always make time for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and suggest you do too when planning your 2024 visit.

We recommend getting to Cinderella Castle some 15-30 minutes before showtime, depending on how close of a view you’d like. Here’s our view from the Partners Statue last year.

    Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade

    Showtimes

    • 8:15 PM
    • 11:15 PM

    American Sign Language Interpretation
American Sign Language interpretation will be offered at select shows on the following dates:

    • Friday, August 23, 2024
    • Thursday, September 26, 2024
    • Thursday, October 24, 2024

New this year is an earlier start time to accommodate families with young ones. Last year, the first parade was at 9:15pm, but it has been moved up to 8:15pm this year.

Another must-do entertainment offering in our opinion is the Boo-to-You Parade. The parade is shown twice, once before the nightly fireworks, and another time after the fireworks. Typically, it’s easier to find a good spot to watch from for the late showtime, but the parade has become very popular in recent years.

For more on the 2023 version of the Boo-to-You Parade featuring some new characters, check out our article below! We’ve also included our video from last year’s event as well.

    Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet

Typically perched near the Country Bear Jamboree, guests will find the Dapper Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet singing spooky songs and Disney favorites. In 2023, they played intermittently between 7pm and 10:50pm.

    Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band

One of the new offerings at the 2023 edition of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was the Rusty Cutlass pirate band in Adventureland. The band played sets throughout the night on the small stage across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Longtime Disney fans might remember the Rusty Cutlass name from years ago when the band used to play during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Like years ago, Rusty Cutlass played some familiar pirate tunes and sea shanties, but also put their own pirate-themed spin on some popular songs.

    Disney Junior Jam Dance Party

Little ones can find the Disney Junior Jam at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe again this year – featuring favorite friends from Disney Junior shows.

    NEW DescenDANCE Party

Ascend to the dance floor at the DescenDANCE Party at Rockettower Plaza Stage—inspired by Descendants: The Rise of Red.

    Interactive Characters

Find roaming characters throughout Frontierland, Adventureland, and Liberty Square – including an increase in Villain encounters during the party.

    Fireworks

There is one fireworks show during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and with Magic Kingdom closing to day guests before sunset, it’s the only fireworks show that is shown at Magic Kingdom period that evening.

    Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

    Showtime

    • 10:00 PM

Disney’s “Not-So-Spooky” Spectacular features a life-size Jack Skellington puppet that shows up on the Cinderella Castle forecourt stage briefly during the show as a narrator. The puppet is very impressive and we recommend getting a close view just for the few minutes that Jack Skellington is on the stage. Despite Disney World adding Main Street USA projections for the return of Happily Ever After, no projections along Main Street USA were added for Disney’s “Not-So-Spooky” Spectacular in 2023.

Gather ‘round as your host—Jack Skellington—delights with this not so scary-tale that proves anything can happen at Halloween!

During a frightfully fun fireworks display, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are spirited away to a mysterious haunted house where they encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a sinister gathering of Disney villains! Don’t miss this dazzling spectacular featuring state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lights and fireworks during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

When it comes to planning, there are some projections on Cinderella Castle, but the big draw is getting close enough to see the impressive life-sized Jack Skellington puppet. In 2023, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky fireworks show was shown at 10:15pm. With the Hocus Pocus stage show typically right before the fireworks show, and the Boo-to-You Parade right after, the hub area is crowded and you’ll have to devote a good chunk of your evening to getting a good spot for fireworks, if that’s important. If not, check out our video below.

    Character Meet & Greets

    Trick-or-Treating

Of course, while entertainment is a huge draw for us during the event, it’s still a Halloween party, which means candy! Guests will be able to find a number of “Treat Trails” where they can collect free candy throughout the evening.

There was some exciting news out of the 2023 event where scoopers were introduced. That typically meant more consistent candy delivery, but also larger portions!

Fill your trick-or-treat bag at any of the following spots:

    • Market Street Welcome Trick-or-Treating (open until 8:00 PM)
    • Tortuga Tavern
    • Tom Sawyer Island Dock
    • Gaston’s Tavern
    • Near TRON Lightcycle / Run
    • Princess Fairytale Hall
    • And more!

Allergy-Friendly Fun Hosted by the Safe + Fair Food Company
If you have a food allergy, please see a Cast Member to pick up a teal-colored treat bag. When you trick-or-treat with your teal bag, you’ll receive a teal token at our treat stations. Later on, you can redeem these teal tokens at our Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats!

Allergy-friendly treats can be found at the Liberty Square Ticket Office (available until midnight) and Chamber of Commerce (available until 12:30 AM).

    Exclusive Food & Drink

Sink your teeth into returning favorites like the Bowl of Bones and Terrifyin’ Twice-Spiced Chicken Sandwich. Check back soon for more information on where to find these delicious dishes and other specialty food and beverage offerings.

Additionally, you can stop by select Quick-Service dining locations throughout the party for dinner. Available locations include:

    • Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café
    • Casey’s Corner
    • Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
    • The Friar’s Nook
    • Pinocchio Village Haus
    • Sleepy Hollow
    • And more!

Bookable table service and dessert party reservations go on sale June 7th.

    Attractions

Select attractions are available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, typically offering shorter wait times than normal thanks to the limited-capacity nature of the event. With event entry starting at 4pm, guests can get a head start on the fun by riding attractions during the mix-in time. Starting at 7pm, the attractions will stop admitting day guests and be open exclusively for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event attendees.

    Attractions with Frightful Flair

Get ready to let loose and show off your best villain DescenDANCE Party, taking place at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. This new rave is inspired by the upcoming Disney Original Movie “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” premiering on Disney+ on July 12.

You’re going to want to talk about this. Because yes, we’re talking about Bruno. For the first time during the party, you can meet the clairvoyant character from “Encanto” alongside Mirabel at their Casita in Fairytale Garden.

This year, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade will take place at an earlier time – perfect for those guests attending with little ones who want to enjoy the spooky fun before it’s bedtime.
