One of the new offerings at the 2023 edition of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the Rusty Cutlass pirate band in Adventureland. The band can be found playing sets throughout the night on the small stage across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Longtime Disney fans might remember the Rusty Cutlass name from years ago when the band used to play during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Like years ago, Rusty Cutlass plays some familiar pirate tunes and sea shanties, but also puts their own pirate-themed spin on some popular songs.
Here’s a video of some of the highlights of their set which ran about 20-25 minutes. When we visited, their set began at 9:15pm and their next set was at 10:30pm, but they have more sets throughout the evening. Disney World has not published any information about the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band, including set times.
Here are some photos of the Rusty Cutlass crew and the crowds that formed once they kicked off the party in Adventureland.
When Rusty Cutlass isn’t on stage, guests may be able to find pirates roaming around Adventureland. These roaming pirates replace the live pirates that were in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and queue in years past.
In addition to the roaming pirates and Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band, there are returning lighting effects in Adventureland near Pirates of the Caribbean and a fun soundtrack with a simulated radio station that plays throughout the land.
