StarWars.com has announced a lineup of six books and comics that will take guests into the vast world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Black Spire Outpost. Here’s a rundown of the content that you’ll be able to dive into to learn more about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge which opens at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge miniseries
We start with a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge miniseries that will be released on April 24, 2019. Written by Ethan Sacks, this five-issue miniseries will be the first to meet the infamous Dok-Ondar, the Ithorian collector of rare antiques and a character that guests will be able to see in the new theme park lands.
Black Spire
This novel will be set as a prequel to the Disney Parks experience that guests will step into later this year. It centers around General Leia Organa and the top spy that she sends to Black Spire Outpost who searches desperately for Resistance allies. Black Spire will be released on September 3, 2019.
A Crash of Fate
Written by Zoraida Cordova, A Crash of Fate is set to be released on August 6, 2019 and is a young adult novel that will focus on Izzy and Jules. Izzy and Jules were best friends until Izzy’s family abruptly left Batuu when she was six. Now she’s back, and Jules, the boy who never left, is unsure what to make of her. While on the run from vengeful smugglers and an angry pirate, the two friends will come to terms with who they are, and what they mean to each other.
Star Wars: Myths & Fables
Star Wars: Myths & Fables features thrilling stories, fables, and myths in a galaxy far, far away. The book features two stories that take place on the remote Outer Rim world of Batuu, plus many other untold tales from the edge of the galaxy. Star Wars: Myths & Fables will be released on August 6, 2019.
Official Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook
For the foodies, there will be an official cookbook from Insight Editions, featuring some of the exotic cuisine created for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as well as dishes drawn from the saga’s history. The book will be written for home cooks of all ages and skill levels by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel, New York Times bestselling author of A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Cookbook and The World of Warcraft Cookbook, with Marc Sumerak (Star Wars: Droidography). The Official Galaxy’s Edge cookbook is set to be released later this Fall.
Galaxy’s Edge Kids Comic
A Galaxy’s Edge kids comic will come from IDW Publishing, home of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars Adventures and Tales from Vader’s Castle, to transport readers to the mysterious world of Batuu in an action-packed adventure for readers of all ages. The Galaxy’s Edge kids comic is set to be released later this Fall.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open this summer at Disneyland and later this Fall at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
