We made it out to Magic Kingdom today to take a look at the refurbishment underway at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. The center third of the store is now behind walls, with both ends still serving guests.
The far right third of the store was behind walls last time we visited, and it doesn’t appear that much has been changed in the photos below.
The center third of the store is now being worked on, behind the temporary wall and merchandise case seen in beige below.
Talking with Cast Members, they said they expect the standalone register to be removed from the center third and two new registers to replace it. They also said that they expect the Christmas trees to be removed to aid in guest flow. Here’s a look at the center third of the store from the last time we visited back in mid-September.
The doors are closed on the middle third right now.
Finally, here’s a look at the far-left third. This is the next and final section to be worked on.
While Cast expected the work to be done by mid-November last time we spoke with them. The refurbishment is reportedly behind schedule, and a reopening closer to Thanksgiving is the current goal.
