File this one under completely unexpected. Planet Hollywood Observatory at Disney Springs has just debuted a talking, roaming robot named Plex.

Plex roams the lobby of Planet Hollywood Observatory, interacting with guests and inviting them to the Observatory. As the story goes, Plex was the brainchild of the 15 year old son of Professor Earl, the founder of Planet Hollywood Observatory. Professor Earl’s son Max saw old scraps laying around and decided to build Plex! Of course, you don’t have to take our word for it, there’s a brand new pull string backpack that has a comic where you can find Plex.

Here’s a quick look at Plex in action!

Plex may have been built from scraps, but he has big plans at Planet Hollywood Observatory. He wouldn’t say what he’s up to, but told us to stay tuned. He did mention that he loves meeting new people and hopes you’ll come by to say hi! Plex is on the clock Monday – Friday, from 12pm to 8pm, taking breaks occasionally throughout the day.
