Epcot Entrance Fountain Transformation Back to Classic Look Begins

Disney is going full steam ahead on any and all Future World projects. From Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to the Space 220 restaurant, to the eventual demolition of half of Future World, it’s a world of walls right now at Epcot. One of the projects that will finish “soon” is the Epcot entrance overhaul project. This includes introducing more green space, removing the Leave a Legacy monoliths, and transforming the entrance fountain into the classic look that it had when the park opened in 1982! It’s that project that we’re concerned with in this photo update.

We’ll start with a few overview photos of the entrance project. As you can see, all of the Leave a Legacy monoliths are long gone as the entire area is reworked. It looks like new green spaces are being shaped as Disney looks to introduce more topiaries to the front of the park, according to concept art.

Here’s a closer look at the entrance fountain, which now has holes cut where the theming elements seen in the concept art will be added. As a refresher, here’s a look at the fountain in the concept art followed up by a look at the work that has taken place recently.

    Here’s a closer look.
